I am attempting to Install Windows XP Professional on a
New Toshiba notebook. The install seems fine except for
the fact that when all is said and done, XP seems to
think it is XP Tablet PC Edition. It tells me so on the
boot logo, and in the system properties.

I don't much care what it tells me it is, but will I be
missing any features of XP Professional becasue of this?

You have the wrong version of Windows XP. You should
purchase Windows XP Professional, not the Windows XP
Tablet PC Edition.

No, I have Windows XP Professional.
The Hologrammed Disk Says XP Professional.
The License Sticker says XP Professional. (And the #
works)
During the Install the screen references Xp Professional.

But, when all is said and done, it is branded as Xp
Tablet Edition.

Wierd isn't it?

Sounds like somebody goofed, and nobody noticed. Perhaps, like a misprinted
postage stamp, your disk is a valuable collector's item. ;>}

No, none. The Tablet PC edition is Pro *plus* extra facilities for
tablet notebooks (like the active pen and handwriting recognition).
These will not be useful on a regular notebook (and quite possibly did
not get installed) - presumably Toshiba are sending out a common CD for
both Tablet and regular versions.

And of course make sure that you did not accidentally *get* a tablet
machine - at a first glance the Toshiba ones look the same, until you
discover the catch that allows the conversion to tablet format
