Installing Word EVERY time I open it

I have Windows XP .. I am the Administrator. I have
to install Microsoft Word EVERY time I want to open a Word document or
create a new one. The Windows installer comes up ... then the EULA license
thing, then
it asks me to insert Disk 1 into my CD drive.

This happens EVERY time ... why? How can I make
it stay permanent and if I can't do that do you have a suggestion as to an
alternative to MS Word ... this is driving me crazy! Thanks ... pormike!

Hope you get an answer to this because mine is doing almost the same thing. I had to re-install XP and Office, and now everytime I click on my desktop Word icon I have to wait (although not long) while it installs. I've used this same Office CD on other computers (I have an HP laptop now) and never had this problem. (Just to let you know you're not alone)
