Installing Windows XP Pro

I bought a new 80GB hard disk. I tried to set-up my
Windows XP Pro and notice the following:

1. When the screen "inspecting you computer's
configuration" shows ... it takes a long time before the
next screen appears - it takes more than 2 minutes.
2. After format and copying of files, it reboots but
always goes back to no.1 - seems like an endless loop.

My Desktop is a Pentium 4 and BIOS was checked.

Please help.

Does your mobo (I/O controller or harddrive interface) require any
special drivers (check with the manufacturer or the PC/mobo)? Sounds
like yes, so they need to be loaded during setup, early stages of the
White Text on Blue Screen portion of setup, pressing F6 and having
them available on Floppy for loading.
