Installing Windows XP from a USB CD drive

Hi,

I want to install Windows XP in a laptop with an external
USB CD drive (the internal Cd drive is out of order). If
I am able to boot the computer from the 6 boot floppy
disks, do you think the external Cd drive will be
recognize to execute the installation process ?

Otherwise is there another way to do it ?

Thanks for your answer,

You'll need to open your BIOS and see if the motherboard
will support booting from an USB device. If it does, set
the USB device as the first bootable device and the hard drive
as the second. Then look and make sure USB Legacy support
is also enabled.
