Installing Win2KPro after blowing away partitions

I have an HP Pavilion 6190 w/P2 266MHz and 96MB RAM. It
has supported W2KPro, but I wanted to re-install,
overwriting the previous installation. The 2nd
installation failed, leaving a dual-boot scenario. The
machine booted to the newest installation and
displayed "ntldr not found". I was unable to get the
machine to boot from the existing installation (F8,
playing w/the CMOS, etc.) so I deleted all partitions and
attempted to boot from the Win2KPro CD. The cursor blinks
on an otherwise blank screen. Using the Win98 boot disk,
attempted to create a partition, rebooted w/CDROM support
and following D:/I386 and running winnt.exe, attempted to
begin the installation. The message returned was,"Unable
to find place for a swap file. Installation cannot
continue". What did I miss?

What do you mean by delet all partitions? Did you use
fdisk? If you do, then you must recreate the partition
before you run winnt
