Installing Vet anti-virus software & xp continously reboots

Hi

I have installed Vet anti-virus (the latest) on a Windows
XP (service pack 1). And it installs no problems, it then
asks to reboot I do & once it gets to the main desktop it
goes into reboot mode again & continously does this. The
only way of stopping this is to remove vet by going into
safe mode. Anyone have any ideas why vet is not being
accepted or a work around?
