Installing SP3 on Xp OEM version

Hello group
I had Sony Desktop replacement system and came preinstalled with
WinXPSp2. Now my question is how do I install the recent upgrade of XP
on top of it.( the SP3 I mean, I had recently downloaded it out for
curiosity and from the positive feedback from others.
Will it not cause any conflict with my OEM OS?
What are the ramifications for such action?
Does SP3 offer significant improvements to my OS?
TIA

OEM describes the licensing scheme - not the OS. Windows XP Home,
Professional, Media Center, TabletPC (32 bit) can all use the same Service
Pack 3.

So it will not cause conflicts with your licensing - no. (OEM question)

However - like any other major change - the wise move is to backup fully and
properly prepare the machine for the change. Backup at least your important
data and settings - make sure you have copies of your installation media and
product keys, etc.

As far as significant improvements over SP2 - no. Sooner or later - if you
keep Windows XP long enough - chances are you will need SP3 to continue
receiving updates.

SP3 will work fine with your OEM copy. I have done it already to my
Dell system which runs their OEM copy.
