Run the command chkdsk /R from a command prompt. Enter "Y"<enter> to check
on re-boot.
Let the disk be checked (takes awhile) then run SP2 Again. After the 2nd
reboot.
Your suggestion did eliminate that particular problem but still could not
install SP2 from the CD. What finally worked was installing the
administrators version of SP2 from the Microsoft web site.
