Installing Outlook XP on PC with multiple users & 1 inbox

R

Rick Van Etten

I recently upgraded my operating system from Windows ME
to XP Professional. The problem that I am having is
trying to get Outlook XP configures to have one common
set of files (inbox, contacts, calendar, etc) for both
users on the PC. My wife and I have one e-mail account
but have set up 2 users in windows. When I activated
Outlook, it automatically set up the files on the
individul's folder rather that the folder for all users.
I do I move those folders so that they are in a common
area accessible to both users?

Close Outlook. Make a new folder on the C: drive, call it "Outlook data," and move the .pst file there. Restart Outlook. When Outlook prompts you for the location of the .pst file, browse to the new folder.
