Installing on new system

I have tried to install Vista 32bit three times now, and it hangs up at
completing installation. I have a gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H board, I tried to
find the AHCI drivers on the disc, but Vista installer said they are not
compatible with hardware on this computer? Everything installs fine, then for
more than an hour, Vista hangs on the "Completing Installation". I hit reset,
and I cant get Vista to boot at all after this. I am Downloading the new
drivers from the gigabyte website, if anyone has any suggestions on what
might be causing this it would be a big help

Now a message of "bootmgr missing" comes up, both IDE and SATA do this. I
think my dvd rom is fried now.
