This may sound rather stupid......

How do I install a program so that it is accessible to
all users. For example say I download something like
spysweeper and I want it to run automatically for all
users.....how do I do this. So far when i install a
program I am then having to copy paste the shortcut into
the other users program lists. This however does not make
sure that a particular program runs automatically when
the other users login. Help???

Install the program to "all users/startup"

Good answer, however, most install programs don't give you this choice. Some
do put the shortcut in all users, but most seem to pick the current user
only. My Windows XP includes 12 startup folders under c:\documents and
settings. There are only two users on this computer.

Most applications weren't designed for this type of multi-user environment.
Such applications need to be installed in each specific user's account to
whom you wish to grant access.

First, be sure the account to which you wish to grant access is set to
administrator and not limited. Install the applications to the same folder
in which it was originally installed. This will look the same as one
install on your hard drive but create the pointers necessary for this user
to have access to the application.

Once the installation is complete, you can return the account to its limited
status if that is what you want and the user should still have access.
