OS is Windows XP Pro. I removed an old harddrive and
installed a new harddrive in my computer. but it showed
up as E: instead of the normal C:, and Win XP will not
permit me to change the E: to C: as it has the OS on it.
The C: drive does not show up in Windows Explorer. How
can I get this new harddrive to show up as the normal C:
configuration, or does it really matter what letter it is?

the only time it will matter is when you install
programs, most of them default to the c:drive, you will
have to change the path.
don

It doesn't really matter what the drive letter is.
If you want to change it back to c at this point you'd have to format and
reinstall xp.

Which has kept your system alive. C: is your bootable device.
