My friend's WINDOWS system is messing up. He bought WINDOWS XP PRO online
and attempted to download it. Because his current system is messing up (the
reason for buying the new one) he can't get it to download. He should have
bought a hard copy, but that is water over the dam. I have his
authorization numbers. Can I download it to a CD for him so that he has a
hard copy that should then install successfully?

I am not aware of any official microsoft site that lets you pay for and
download XP. What site did he buy it from?

Before I check with him, he said he was given "keyupdatetool.exe" to use in
accessing the data. Does that provide any info that I should have included
initially?

So he will automatically be receiving the CD? Or does he need to request it?
And does that mean that I cannot download it for him? (In his defense,
he paid to have his computer system built by a so-called friend.)
