installing IIS fails to find admxprox.dll

John Pugh

The message subject says it all. I can see the file on
the XP cdROM in the i386 directory and windows appears to
see it but still fails to load it and cancels the install.

I have tried copying the file onto local drive and
browsing for it but no joy.

Make sure that the registry entry source path in
hklm\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\setup is set to the location
of the
I386 folder. for a standard retail CD, it should say "D:\"

Worked for me too - thank you very much.

I did a search for the admxprox.dll and used a wildcard * in the search. Found the file located in some remote location on my hard drive, so I copied that into a folder I could easily navigate to and bingo.:thumb:
