installing external harddrive

I have an external harddrive case in which you install a hard drive and connect it to your computer by usb port. When I run the hardware wizard it indicates that the device is functioning properly. however, it is not showing on my computer and I have'nt the slightest idea how to use it or get it functioning properly. Can anyone help me

make sure it's pluged into your usb port on your pc the cord might has worked lose. if not you may have to format that drive. In windows exployer right click on you drive an chose format.
