installing and running on Win98 in 2004

Dear Anybody,

I'd like to develop an access application. My application would only contain a few forms
for searching and showing the hits. But I'd like to deploy this on CD. I should make a complete
setup package. I have already known the tools which I can do this with (runtime version of Access,
Access 2003 Developer Extensions, etc.).

But I'd like my package to run on every windows operating system above Win 98 (included Win 98)
with or without full Access enviroment (setup program and after that my application).
My questions are followings:

1. Is there any Access Developer Kit for this reason. If yes, does this
contain a suitable custom setup wizard for Win 98 platform too.
2. Can I use the ADO or must go back to the DAO?
As far as I know for example Access 2003 runs only on Win 2000 and Win XP.
3. So, do I have to cry off developing in Access 2003 and their Extensions?

I have not so much time for developing, therefore I would choose solution of the Access
because I have some experience of this area. It seems a good choice or I should give it up.

I would be grateful for your help.

You're correct about the OS requirements for Office 2003. If you need to
target Win98, then yes, you cannot use Access 2003.

What you'll need to look for is Office XP Developer, but unfortunately,
Microsoft no longer sells it.

One possibility is to check out sites that specialize in old software
products, such as http://www.emsps.com/oldtools/ or
http://recycledsoftware.com/

Another is to look at someplace like eBay to see whether anyone's trying to
see their old versions (Note, though, that products purchased this way
aren't always legal...)
