Installing a Windows 2000 server as a BDC in an NT 4.0 Domain

A Win2000 Server cannot be a BDC in an NT4 domain. Win2000 uses another
type of directory (AKA active) that is not backwards compatible.

You can have an NT4 BDC in a Win2000 domain, though.

There is no such role as "BDC" in the Win2K lexicon. Win2K
servers can only be member servers in a WinNT domain.
