Installed wrongSerial Number

I just formated a new hard drive but put the serial number from my desktop
instrad of my notebook. How can I go beck and put the correct information in
without losing all the work I have done. I haven't yet registered the new
install with Microsoft but I did a lot of work and don't really want to do
it again. Many thanks if someone can help me!!!

I assume you mean the Licence Key for Windows XP? If so then press to
activate by telephone rather than on the internet, and you will then have to
option of changing the licence key before it activates..
