I just installed a new Pentium 4 HT processor in an existing Windows 2000
Server.

Do I need to install additional software?

Thanks in advance

You generally don't need to do anything with Windows or other software
when you change your processor. One thing I need to point out though is
that Windows 2000 is not compatible with Hyperthreading. It sees a HT
processor as 2 physical processors that are equal. That just means that
sometimes software will run slower. It is often better to disable HT in
the BIOS when running 2000. Windows XP and Server 2003 both support HT.
Now it could be that you are still set to use the single processor HAL.
If that is the case then all Windows will show is one processor.
