Installation problem

Hi. I recently purchased a 40 gig. hard drive and I've
installed it on my pc at home. I tried installing
windowsXP on it and I seem to be having a problem with the
installation. When I get to the part of, copying files
for the installation, my computer jams at the copying of
the driver.cab file. I'va tried this over and over again
and it does not seem to be working. Could it be that my
cd is damaged? Thanks.

Use the 40gb as a second drive if your existing drive works.
Clean the CD.
Run a surface scan on your new hard drive to see if that is the problem.
Copy the CD to a hard drive. If it will copy to the hard drive it can be
installed from the hard drive.
