Installation permissions

Neil

Hi All,

I like to install software (especially trial software) on my d: hard drive
partition rather than on the c: partition.

With a lot of software, the install routines fail with the comment that I do
not have appropriate permissions to conduct the install to that location.

I have admin rights to d: (full control) and can't work out why I am
refused.

Any Ideas ?

Thanks,

Neil

Usually such messages are pretty explicit. I would double check that
administrators has full control permissions to the program files folder on
that drive, that subfolders are inheriting the parent permissions, and you
are not a member of any group that has deny permissions to the drive or
program files folder. Administrators are also members of the users and
everyone groups. --- Steve
