Installation of XP Pro

I am having trouble installing XP Pro onto my hard drive.
I wonder if any one can help? I have a Seagate 120GB 7200
hard drive and have tried to install XP Pro on it but the
setup comes back with disk is not accessible. What is the
problem and how do i overcome the problem. Has anyone any
suggestions?

If this is a new HD, check tho obvious first.
1. Does CMOS see the HD on boot?
2. Does the computer's BIOS support a drive of this size?
3 .Are the cables connected correctly?
4. Is the drive pinned properly? (master, slave, cable
select)
5. Can you tell if the drive is spinning?

If 1, and 2 are no, see if there is a BIOS upgrade
available.
If 5 is no, and the power cable is ok, you may have a bad
drive.
