Install XP SP1

M

Mike Reisch

Web Page dialog appears, the download bar goes completely
blue immediately then never moves, the installation never
proceeds no matter how long I stay connected.

I have registered regsvr msscript.ocx, dispex.dll,
vbscript.dll, scrrun.dll and re-associated the .JS file
type suffix with C:\WINDOWS\System32\WScript.exe "%1" %*
(it was set to Notepad)

The Add/Remove show various SP1 hotfixes (which I assume
were from the automatic updates) but no SP 1

The installation history log show failures on dowloading
SP1 from the web.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you

Hi Mike,

Open Windows Explorer to C:\Windows\system32, right-click/rename the
catroot2 folder to catold. Then retry the SP1 installation. When finished,
there will be a new catroot2 folder and you can safely delete the old
renamed one.
