Install XP on laptop running Win2K?

I have a laptop running Win2K, with no internal (or external) CD-ROM. I have
a USB floppy drive that came with it. I also have an OE Win XP CD, and a
spare license from a PC that's no longer running XP. So I think I'm legally
allowed to install XP on this laptop. But how? I don't know any way to boot
from the CD (I can access the CD through another PC over a wireless LAN).
Can anybody point me to the steps I need to follow to install XP on this
laptop? I have only the OE CD, so I can't simply upgrade from my existing
Win2K installation.

Your only option is to acquire an external CD Drive and connect
it to the laptop. Then you can upgrade over Windows 2000.

In addition to what Carey has said, if your unused license is an OEM
license, then you are not entitled to install that copy of XP anyway.

An OEM license for Windows does not permit the software to be installed on
any other PC than the PC the software came with.

The trouble and expense of installing XP on your Win 2k laptop is probably
not worth it. Even if you do get it installed, it will probably not run as
well as it does with 2k and with reduced functionality due to lack of XP
specific drivers for the laptop specific hardware.
If the product key is OEM you intend to use and has previously been used,
the product key is not eligible for use on another system.
