Install the Fax on XP

I just got a machine with XP Home Edition on it. I am attempting to install the fax. When I click on the Add/Remove Window Components link, the box opens with all windows components. A few are checked, so I uncheck all except "Fax." MSN Explorer was checked, so I unchecked it. When I attempted to uncheck it, a window popped up asking me if I want to Uninstall MSN Explorer, explaining that it won't delete an account on MSN or anything like that. I say no, because I don't want to uninstall it. I see the check is still there. So I go to uncheck it again, same thing. Now I ahve to say yes in order to get the check mark off. I say yes...I run the program, thinking that all I am doing is installing the fax. Turns out it deleted MSN Explorer and IE. I then had to do a restore to the day before.

Can someone shed some light on what I am doing wrong? I really need to install the fax

Thanks.

On Add/Remove programs window = When you check a box that is currently not
checked you are installing the program. If you uncheck a box that is
currently checked, you are uninstalling a program. That being said, you
don't want to uncheck any checked boxes when installing a program. Just
check the box next to fax [if it is unchecked] to install the program.

A checked box means that that program is installed
A unchecked box means that that program is not installed
Make sense to you?
