Have just install XP on a clean HD. Having problems loading
any software and hard ware. Does not find any computers on
a network that is running through a belken router. Other
computers can not see it. Cannot access a printer that is
connected to the network with this box. The other boxes run
98 SE and XP both the others work and talk with no problems.
The new system will not accept any hard ware keeps saying
that it can not find proper drivers or controlers. Other XP
box has no problems.
New box will not autorun CDs says not enough virtual
memory, went in and changed it to 4mg but now get the can
not find IDE or ieee controlers. Trying to install HD cD
writer, Nikon Scanners, Nikon camera controls, Kodak
software, Cross Pen tab,
Do I need to go in and remove all of the hardware, cards etc
then install separately?

First, test the hardware. Start with the RAM. I like Memtest86 from
www.memtest86.com. If the RAM is good, test the hard drive with a
diagnostic from the drive mftr. If the hardware is good - although I
doubt that it is - strip the machine down to the basics - motherboard,
hard drive, floppy if you have one, and video card. See what happens.
Then add things one at a time - add one cd-rom drive. Test. Add a cd-rw
drive. Test. Add a sound card. Test. You get the picture. If you can't
do this yourself, take the machine to a good local computer repair shop
(not a BestBuy or CompUSA type of store) and have them check it out.

If you want more help here, post back with system specs and what the
results of your troubleshooting were.
