When I try to install Microsoft Office Professional for Windows 95 my
computer doesnt even seem to realize that there is a cd in it. Even tried to
manually isntall it and it kept telling me to put a cd in - and the cd was
already in it

What do I do?

Seriously?

Use something else or - if you just must have Office Professional for
Windows 95 - try a virtual machine with Windows 95 installed.

As far as what to use - OpenOffice if this is because you don't want to
purchase the 12+ year newer version of Microsoft Office...

Assuming the CD drive reads and runs other CDs OK,
this probaby indicates your Win95 CD now is defective.
This seems normal. CD plastics deteriorate in time
(remember all that talk about them turning bronze in
colour) and we should not assume software vendors
used everlasting materials for software with a limited
shelf life. Vendors always wanted you to buy new software.

If the cd isnt recognised try another cd if that to isnt recognised then
your cd drive has maybe failed.

In any case I would doubt that Office Pro for win95 will fuinction correctly
on winxp. If you dont want to buy a later version, download 'Open Office'
