I am currently trying to install windows ME back onto my computer (a
new harddrive) but, during the scan disk it does not show or read
drive C. It shows drive D, however, it states that it is invalid.
Can anyone help with this problem?

You have to partiion and format it first before installing WIN ME.
WIN XP does it automatically as an option when installing it but with
the older ones you use FDISK and FORMAT.

The execute files are on the CD. You can alternatively create a bootup
disk on a floppy that makes a boot up floppy with these files on it.
Im not 100% sure that both files are on it as its been a while since I
actually installed WIN ME or older OSes but Im pretty they are both
automatically copied on a bootup disk. If they arent search the CD for
those files and copy them manually to the boot up floppy.

FDISK - to create partitions. Just pick the whole disk as one
partition.

Format - just pick the drive letter to format and itll do its thing.

The D: is your old HD probably thats already formatted etc so it
recognizes it.
