Install file terminated prematurely

Any idea why I tried to run an executable which is an installer but got this
error:

Well, after doing a night of research with 12 IT professionals, our
Leadengineer came up with this conclusion:
"We think that means the installer produced an error...."

Maybe you can get a more usefull response if you provide us with more
information, like WHAT you tried to install on WHAT version of Vista.
