install error

I have windows xp home upgrade edition and I am trying to
install it onto a system that I have already formated ther
hard drive on but have no operating system on it.

I placed the cd into the drive and it started off the CD
but it keeps giving me the blue screen and won't install.
The message is about session3_initialization_failed.

How do install win xp home upgrade?

Hi,

To use an upgrade cd you should have an existing operating system that is eligible for the upgrade.

so when the upgrade cd is inserted it searches for an existing or prior operating system to begin.

So please reinstall the previous operating system (that u had) and then try the upgrade again. it should work.
