install error

I purchased the Windows XP OS upgrade for Windows98.
Everytime I start the upgrade I get an error, "Your
computer needs more memory for Setup to continue". As I
understand it the minimum requirement is 128 meg of ram.
My PC had 512 meg of RAM, 1 Ghtz of CPU, and 60 gig of
disk space. The existing system is Microsoft Windows 98
4.10.1998. The processor is an AMD Athlon Processor.
Memory is 65% free. Any suggestions on getting this to
work?

thanks

Do you have 60gigs free on your drive or just a 60gig drive?
If a 60gig drive how much space is actually free?
