Bert

the message comes up when trying to boot Win XP home.
Windows could not start because the following file is
missing or corrupt \windows\system32\config\system

Repair sends us back to this same message.

Any suggestions on how I can have access to that drive.
Diagnostics on the drive or OK.

I have tried the repair from install, and as stated in my
earlier message, it gets us back to a blue screen and a
stop error message.

I have tried to boot from a floppy but same results
always.

I suspect that the user her as tried to re install
windows and chose the wrong partition therefore,we have a
corruped partition which is why I can not get to the
c:\prompt in any way. I'm afraid that I may have for
fdisk this drive and start over.
