Install Chinese XP from English Me

I am trying to upgrade the English Windows Me in my
notebook to Chinese Windows XP Home. I try the following
but all fail:

1. uninstall Windows Me from Add/Delete of Control Panel
but the Uninstall Windows Me tab does not appear
2. turn to MS-DOS mode and format drive c but the
computer does not allow me to proceed
3. put the Chinese XP Home installation disk directly to
the CD drive but the installation stops midway with
garbage characters.

Please advise if there is any other solutions.

One cannot upgrade a particular language version of Windows XP
to another language version. In your case, you'll need a "Full Version"
of Windows XP in your desired language and proceed with a "clean install".
