inserting type deletes next word. How do I stop it?

I have existing typescript on screen. If I try to insert correction or
additional typescript it deletes following typescript. How do I stop this?

Not sure if you are on the right forum (this is for access data bases) but
anyway:

Turn off Overtype

(Press "insert" - or - "fn+insert") fn will turn on the function
capabilities of most keyboards
