I received a background template via e-mail to use on a presentation.

I completed the presntation previous to receiving the template. I have a
number of questions:
How do I save the template from an e-mail attachment into powerpoint? Can I
replace the background I currently have with the template I receive? If so,
how?

Thank you

The template you received should have an extension of .pot. The easiest way to
save it is to open it in PowerPoint, then save it as a Template file (.pot) and
PowerPoint will put it into the correct folder. If it has a .pps of .ppt
extension, open it and then save it as a template file (.pot).

Open the presentation that you want to apply the new template to. From the
toolbar select format, Slide Design, and select the template you recently saved
as a template file.
