inserting subdocuments with a relative path

Does anyone know how to insert a subdocument into a master
document with a relative path? When I insert the document,
it's path is always absolute from the C drive and that is
causing me problems when I move the files around. I
haven't been able to figure out how to change it. Any help
would be greatly appreciated.
