Inserting smileys into emails

Is it possible to insert a smiley icon into an Windows Mail email? A friend
does it in Outlook with a couple of keystrokes, but it doesn't work for me in
Mail.

Create Mail > click anywhere within compose body > top, Insert > Picture

scroll to find the smiley you want, click it, click Open.

Jennie, beware of "Free" utilities that claim to provide "Smileys", a
number of these are in fact not free but contain spyware.

Most if not all sites that contain Smiley's also contain malware and spyware. I have
not touched a Smiley in 15 +yrs
