Inserting files into Layers

Of course, I'm new.

I want to make a website that has a profile for a variety of products.
These products have been evaluated and benchmarked, those records are in
regular excel files.

What i need is to have the layers on a profile page have the excel file
fitting into the layer. I can insert the information in an inline frame, but
I just want the entire excel print area to be what is viewed constrained by
the layer.

I've saved it as an htm file from Excel and inserted that page, but its
always HUGE and takes up the majority of the page and wont stay within the
layer parameters.

Any help would be appreciated!

A layer (actually called a divide) when created by the WYSIWYG editor
Frontpage will be absolutely positioned (which can cause some other problems).

Is this data in a table? Have you considered using a server side language
to read from the Excel file?

Thanks corey for the response.

Yes, the data is in a table. I have no idea what a side language server is.

The ultimate goal (which may change gears completely) is to have these
profile pages with sections (divides) with information, and when a producut
is updated and we need to benchmark it and evaluate it, i can change one core
file and it updates in the divides. I currently use the inline frame, and
just save as web page in the excel, but was hoping to just save some space so
it could all be on one page so you could print off a page and have all the
information, not just the framed box of information because its pixel huge
(as opposed to memory huge)

I don't have access to my other computer right now that has FP 2003 on it but
I know that FP will help you set up a connection to a DB in an ASP page.

A server side language (ASP, PHP, .NET) basically help "read" a database or
some other type of TXT file so that you can easily update the DB / TXT file.
