Inserting Comment Problem

I have protected a few cells in a worksheet. There is a
need to add and edit comments to the unprotected cells.
However, when you select an unprotected cell and go to
insert comment the insert comment is greyed out.

depending on your Excel version you can enable comment insertions in
the protection dialog (check 'Objects' for this)

When you protect your worksheet, uncheck protect objects.
Then all comments are open to change.
