Inserting a special character into a form

Access 2003. I have a database wherein we enter student names into a form.
Some of the names are hispanic and need for instance an "n" with the little
curl above it. The default font being used is Arial. How can I get one of
these special characters. Is there a series of keystrokes that will insert
these. Apparently in the case of the n with the curl the character code is
00F1 . . . Thanks for any help. God bless.

Currently I know of only two things
first open the Character Map program (Start>Programs>Accesories>System
Tools) and choose and copy the character
The second is to hold down the alt key and type in the 3 digit sequence
e.g.
alt+164 = ñ
alt+165 = Ñ

Open the Windows Character Map (Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools,
Character Map). Select the symbol you want and copy. Go back to Access and
paste it where you want. The character map will stay open until you close it.

Hi Doug,

If you are using windows, one thing you can do is copy and paste it
from the character map. (Start Run charmap.exe) The keystroke in
Arial for a capital N with a tilde is ALT+0209, but I don't see a
lowercase n with a tolde for Arial at least.

Alt+0241

This means hold the Alt key and type 0241 on the keypad (not on the top
row).

As a more general answer, Windows has a small application called Character
Map, which will give you the codes to any character. You *might* be able to
find it under Start>Programs>Applications. If not, you can always go to
Start>Run and type "charmap" (without the quotes). Select any character and
it will display the Keystroke combination in the bottom right of the form.

Aside: Now *why* does the name Doug Pruiett sound familiar?
