Inserting a picture in Word 2003 SP3

Whe I chose "Picture" from the Insert-dropdown list there about 40 "Clip
Collection" items - all empty - but no "from file" listed even if I click on
the up or down arrows.

Do you have Works installed - and more to the point its Word add-in? This
tends to duplicate some menu items, notably mail merge. If so see
http://www.gmayor.com/multiple_mail_merge_entries.htm . If that doesn't fix
it, rename normal.dot to normal.old and see

Graham, Thanks for the answer. I used your "missingMenus" suggestion and it
worked! However, the command "from File" was not on the "All Commands" list
but I found it under the "Insert" list.
