Hi Jeff,

Your question is a wee bit confusing.

What version of Powerpoint?
How is the person trying to insert the picture (click on
Insert, Picture, Insert from file, select the JPG, click
ok)?
Is the presentation on a shared drive? If so, have you
tried copying it to the person's hard drive before they
edit it?

Let us know,
Glenna

Hello Jeff,

This is definitely NOT the recommended way for inserting images into
PowerPoint. Even when this works, you are ending up with an OLE object
which contains an image instead of just an image (which can lead to
problems later). Instead, you should either use a layout which includes a
Clip Art placeholder (and double-click on that to insert the image) or
continue to use the layouts you are using and, instead of double-clicking
in the placeholder to insert a picture, use the "Insert -> Picture -> From
File..." command.

Newever versions of PowerPoint 2002/2003 no longer include an Object
placeholder for layouts and, instead, use a content placeholder with
specific icon for inserting pictures (in order to avoid this problem
scenario).
