inserting a bootup message

I have XP installed on a Dell Inspiron 8100 laptop and I set the bios to
bootup with a password for the hard disk.

Is there a way to modify the message the Phoenix bios puts up asking for the
password, or failing that, insert message before XP actually boots up?

The BIOS password is a feature of the BIOS, not Windows. All of
this occurs way before Windows even starts to boot, and there's
nothing in Windows you can do that will affect it.

But to answer your question, there's no practical way for you to
modify your BIOS yourself, and any attempt to do it would either
fail, or likely get you an unbootable computer.

There's a Windows 2000 machine at work, that when you boot it up, and just
before you are asked for the password, displays an administrative message
box that you have to click OK to continue. I know this was set up by my
employer since the message refers to our business.

How is this done, and can it be done in XP?
