inserted Object (Word doc) cropped off on the left

Why is it that when I insert a Word Doc as an object the left inch or so of
the text in the original Word doc is cropped? I can resize or do anything
that seems to help.

Which version of Word are we dealing with, here? Have you checked the
paragraph formatting in the document you're inserting to make sure there are
no negative indents (that would put the text to the left of the left margin)?
