Insert symbol on subject line

Good morning,

I am writing a procedure that requires users to enter text that contains a
symbol on the subject line in Outlook 2003, for example, "Your ABC® account."
We use Word as the editor, but Symbol on the Insert menu is unavailable. I
thought that AutoText might provide a workaround, but that is also
unavailable on the subject line. The only method that I can come up with is
to insert an AutoText entry for "Your ABC® account" into the body of the
e-mail and then paste it into the subject line. However, that seems a rather
awkward solution. Can anybody suggest a more automated approach? Or am I
just overlooking something obvious?

I would appreciate any assistance that you can offer. Thanks in advance.

the subject line of an email is text only, even though the insert method you
describe looks like it will work, when you get the email at the other end,
the symbol will be gone.

When I think about it, that makes perfect sense! That's why Insert » Symbol
is unavailable. There is no workaround, then.

Thanks for your help, dlw.

Symbols such as © or ® are still within normal text range, and there
should be no problem using it in the Subject line (â„¢ however is not!).

I would just use copy and paste (Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V).

A free tool like http://allchars.zwolnet.com/ might help.
