The event viewer did not show anything on Outlook; but
today I had a search errors of:

Faulting application explorer.exe, version 6.0.2800.1221,
faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.1217, fault
address 0x00033905. @ 8:39:45 AM

and

Fault bucket 50065601. @ 8:39:50 AM

Then

The shell stopped unexpectedly and Explorer.exe was
restarted. @ 8:39:56 AM

This error is indicating that Outlook isn't the issue but Windows XP itself
(explorer.exe icw ntdll.dll)

You might want to post this error message in a Windows XP newsgroup. Also
look up the Event ID of the error or they will have a hard time helping you.

Good Luck!
