insert page range in footer page x of number of pages

I'd like to have page x of y in my footer so that y is the total number of
slides - which is automatically updated and not hard-coded. Like the way it
works in Word. How?

This doesn't work quite as automatically as it does in Word, but it *does*
work!

Right - I saw that 'add-in'.. but I was looking for something that would
automatically keep the pages updated as I insert and delete. My
understanding of the add in (after testing it) is that it simply hard codes
the number of pages (which we can do without installing an add-in. :-(

More searching indicates that this automated update facility isn't
supported... why in the world it isn't totally dumbfounds me given the many
many questions I've seen on this topic. MS will hopefully add it soon.
