Insert... objects... vanished

Good Day,
All of my hyperlinks and inserted objects (created
new...such as maps) are not visible after Diskkeeper scan
disk was run. (Clip Art is still OK.) They have been
replaced with {EMBED....}. They do however print out. (I
have lost my ability to see them on the screen).
Does anyone know if the files were corrupted or a WORD
setting was changed?
I have Windows 2000NT and MSWORD 2000.

Change Options...

I don't know if you found an answer to your question, but in Word XP (hope it is the same in 2000), select Tools>Options>View, and make sure that the box for Field Codes isn't checked. Hope this is of help...
