In Word 2003, how can I insert a macro in the normal.dot template to put the
filepath in the footer?

You don't need a macro. With the template open (and don't do this to the
Normal.dot template unless you never print labels in Word), open the footer
pane. On the Header & Footer toolbar, click Insert AutoText and choose "Filename
and path" from the list. Save the template. Every document you base on that
template will have the filename and path automatically.
 
Thank you. Now I have one more question. It looks like the filepath doesn't
automatically update when I save the file with a new name and I have to
manually update the field. Is there any way to make it update automatically?
