Insert AutoText

I have hunted high & low, but must be missing something.

In the Insert/AutoText dropdown menu, you have 'Signature'.

Mine has apparently at one stage, picked up my name abbreviation there which
I normally use in my Outlook mail - which is no problem.
I want to enter my full name into that 'Signature' field as well, but no
matter which way I try to do it within Word, it always creates a 'Normal'
entry on the menu and appears in there instead.

What am I doing wrong?

The signature heading reflects the name of the paragraph style applied.
Apply the signature paragraph style and then save as autotext.

Are you referring to the category in which the AutoText entry appears?
The category is named after the paragraph style your cursor is in when
you create the entry. In other words, first apply the proper style,
and then create your AutoText entry.

Hope this helps...

Thanks very much both, I've tried both your suggestions, but my new entries
still appear in the 'Normal' field.
If I try and create one in the 'Signature' field, it says the field is
reserved.

If your signature entry is appearing under normal, then it has the normal
paragraph style applied to it.
Apply the signature paragraph style - if that style is not displayed set
Word to display all styles - then apply it before saving the autotext entry.
The headings you refer to are simply a reflection of the paragraph style of
the contents.
